  • Viewing Development Applications

    Council is required to make Development Applications (DAs) and certain associated documents publicly available under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. Pursuant to Section 101 of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act, the below lists applications recently determined by Penrith City Council. Details of these determinations are available for public inspection free of charge during Council’s normal business hours (between 8.30am and 4pm Mondays to Fridays except Public Holidays) at the Civic Centre, 601 High Street, Penrith.     Any person may, during the exhibition period, make a submission in writing to Penrith City Council in relation to the Development Application.     Any submission made in respect of the application will be provided to the Sydney Western City Planning Panel and may be viewed by other persons with an interest in the application. Council is required to make Development Applications and certain associated documents publicly available under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. There is a presumption in favour of publicly disclosing all submissions relating to this Development Application unless Council determines that it is not in the public interest to do so.

    Unless the proposed development is development about which the Independent Planning Commission has conducted a public hearing, any person who makes a submission by way of objection and who is dissatisfied with the determination of the consent authority to grant development consent, may appeal to the Land and Environment Court under Section 8.8 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. If the Independent Planning Commission conducts a public hearing, the Commission’s determination of the application is final and not subject to appeal.

    Section 10.4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the Local Government and Planning Legislation Amendment (Political Donations) Act 2008 requires the disclosure of reportable political donations or gifts by a person or persons who make a relevant planning application to Council or submission on a relevant planning application to Council.

    Road Reserve Openings Now Online

    Penrith City Council has introduced online applications for Road Reserve Opening permits as part of our digital transformation. A permit to undertake utility/non-utility minor works in road reserves is required under the Roads Act 1993. PermitAccess, the application platform, is an online permit application system that streamlines the process from the point you do your Dial Before You Dig safety checks all the way through to receiving your permit.     Applications for The Use of Sportsgrounds

    Winter 2019 - 16 March 2019 to 1 September 2019

    Applications are now open for the seasonal hire of Council’s Parks and Sporting Grounds for the 2019 winter season which commences on the third Saturday in March (16 March 2019) until the first Sunday in September (1 September 2019).

    Allocations will be at Council’s discretion and consider factors such as community benefit, prior usage and the need to schedule maintenance, ground regeneration and capital works.

    New hirers are encouraged to contact Council’s Recreation Department on 4732 7930 or email recreation@penrith.city for information and forms.
