If you're a community group in the Penrith area needing advice or endorsement from Council for a submission to a non Council-funded program call 4732 7777.

    Grants on offer each year include:

    Community Assistance Program

    Each year Council provides funding through the Community Assistance Program (CAP) for local non-profit organisations and groups to help provide services and facilities that will benefit the Penrith community.

    Applications for the 2018-19 round closed on Monday 10 September 2018.

    Non-profit community organisations that provide services to residents of the Penrith LGA are invited to apply for grants of up to $1,200. Grants will be provided to:

    • purchase equipment
    • support a community event or function or
    • deliver a one-off project

    To be eligible for funding projects must be:

    • "one-off" activities
    • of direct benefit to and encouraging participation by residents in the Penrith LGA
    • in line with Council's Access and Equity Principles.

    Projects will be prioritised according to the eligibility and assessment criteria set out in the 2018-19 Community Assistance Program Guidelines (pdf 33kb). Please also read the Frequently Asked Questions (pdf 39kb) before applying.

    Heritage grants

    Council provides grants to help protect and boost the valuable cultural heritage in Penrith. These grants help owners, renters and not-for-profit organisations to repair and maintain heritage listed properties, homes and locations across the City. Funding is offered on a $1 for $1 basis where Council contributes half of the cost of the restoration works. Works can range from $1,000 to $5,000 (with Council providing up to $5000 to match project funding).  

    Applications for the 2018-19 Heritage Assistance Fund Grants Program closed on 18 May 2018.

    Magnetic Places

    Grant applications for 2018 are now open!
    Community placemaking grants are available each year for projects that bring people together to transform their local public spaces through artistic activity and new social connections.  

    Applications have been extended until Friday 14 September.

  • ClubGRANTS

    ClubGRANTS 2018

    The 2018 Penrith LGA ClubGRANTS Category 1 ClubGRANTS program closed on 4 May 2018.

    Category 1 ClubGRANTS is a community development funding program sponsored by local Registered Clubs and coordinated by Penrith City Council.  This scheme enables registered clubs with an annual gaming machine revenue exceeding $1 million to apply 1.85% of their gaming machine revenue to specific community development and support projects. 

    The local Registered Clubs that participate in the Penrith Category 1 ClubGRANTS program are:

    • Club Paceway
    • Emu Plains Sporting & Recreation Club
    • Kingswood District Bowling Club
    • Nepean Rowing Club
    • The Henry Sports Club
    • Penrith Bowling & Recreation Club
    • Penrith Gaels Cultural & Sporting Association
    • Penrith RSL Club
    • Penrith Rugby League Club
    • St Marys District Band Club
    • St Marys RSL & Ex Servicemens Club
    • St Marys Rugby League Club
