NSW Government launches new Driving Digital Skills Program

Penrith City Council has been working closely with Investment NSW and the Department of Education Training Services NSW to facilitate new training opportunities for Penrith’s top industries, and is excited to announce the launch of the Driving Digital Skills Program for 2024.

Manufacturing workers using laptop and software program.Digital skills are important across a wide variety of roles in every major industry in NSW, particularly in the high growth industries of defence, advanced manufacturing, and medical technology. The program is designed to support the manufacturing industry by improving workers’ digital skills, and safeguard employment in the rapidly changing business environments of advanced and growth industries across NSW.

The Driving Digital Skills Program addresses the need to support new hires as innovation and emerging technologies alter the way we work, and is a holistic program delivered collaboratively through a number of partner organisations including Skills Lab, University of Technology Sydney, Ai Group, Australian Motorsport Innovation Precinct, and Australian Racing Drivers’ Club.

The program consists of 3 micro-credentials; Work in Industry 4.0, 3D Design and Manufacture & Project Lifecycle Management, and Industrial Automation Coding and Commissioning, with participants welcome to participate in one or all training blocks on offer. The training commences in February 2024 will be delivered online via live, facilitated sessions connected remotely to the Skills Lab Training facilities across Australia.
